Eu Também Quero o Michael Moore no 6º Fórum Internacional Software Livre!

O Fórum Internacional Software Livre (FISL) é um evento no qual a comunidades brasileira e internacional do software livre se encontram, discutem questões sobre o desenvolvimento do software livre, e como o software livre pode ajudar a disseminar a tecnologia da informação, sob uma perspectiva social e humanitária.

O FISL é promovido pelo Projeto Software Livre Brasil, que é uma iniciativa de pessoas de diversos setores da sociedade, que propõe debates e atividades sobre o software livre e sua função social.

O Governo Brasileiro tem sido pioneiro na adoção de software livre, na tentativa de dar os primeiros passos em direção à independência tecnológica, o que em nosso mundo atual é crucial para a soberania nacional. Como consequência, empresas que obtêm lucros exorbitantes com software não-livre têm tentado dificultar a adoção de software livre pelo governo brasileiro. Uma delas é uma das empresas que mais lucram com softwares não-livres no mundo, a Microsoft.

E por quê o Michael Moore? A julgar pelo seu aspecto físico, um "típico americano" não faria muita diferença. A questão é que, sendo o artista, jornalista, editor e ainda mestre de cerimônia que é, ele veicula através do seu trabalho fortes convicções e uma consciência crítica da política americana e mundial. Aos 50 anos, pode ser considerado um dos mais proeminentes críticos contestatórios e representante de uma corrente, à margem dos dois principais partidos - democrata e republicano - dominantes. Mas, respondendo a pergunta inicial, temos uma comunidade internacional do software livre que também "está cansada de ver os interesses das corporações prevalecerem sobre a nossa própria sobrevivência".

O Brasil tem assistidos seus filmes, lido seus livros. Acompanhamos a sua luta por um EUA melhor, por um mundo melhor. Sua presença no nosso evento será um ato de grande valor para nossa comunidade.

Com isso, o Projeto Software Livre Brasil gostaria de convidá-lo a participar do 6º Fórum Internacional Software Livre. O 6º FISL acontecerá em Porto Alegre/Brasil, no período de 1 a 4 de Junho de 2005.

The International Free Software Forum (IFSF or FISL) is a free software event in which brazilian and international free software communities meet, discuss on free software development issues, and how can free software help making information technology widespread, from a social and humanitarian perspective.

IFSF is promoted by Projeto Software Livre Brasil (Brazilian Free Software Project). O Projeto Software Livre Brasil (PSL-Brasil) is a iniciative of people from several sectors of society, and proposes debates and actions on free software and its social utility.

Brazilian Government has been a pioneer in free software adoption. Brazil's goals with that is giving the first steps towards technological independence, what in our current world is necessary for a country's sovereignty. As a consequence, companies that achieve astronomic profits from non-free software have been trying to stop free software adoption by the brazilian government. One of them is the company that achieve the higher profits with non-free software the world, Microsoft.

Well, why Michael Moore? Judging his physical aspect, a "typical american", he would not make much difference. The question is, being the artist, journalist, publisher and still ceremony master he is, he spreads through his works strong convictions and a critical conscience of the american and world-wide politics. 50 years old, one of the most proeminent critics refuting and representative of a chain can be considered, apart from the two major parties - democratical and republican - domain. But, answering the initial question, we have an international free software community that is also "tired of seeing the interests of the corporations to prevail on our own survival" .

Brazil had been watching your movies, reading your books. We follow your battle for a better USA, for a better world. You presence in our event will be of great value for our community.

Thus, we strengthen the invitation to you, a great defender of people's interests over corporations', to attend to the 6th IFSF, support free software and contribute with our debate.
